Second Prayer from Wednesday Evening Prayer, 4th Week after Holy Cross, Maronite Liturgy.
“Christ, cornerstone and foundation of our lives, by your hand we are carved, in your keeping we are secure, and by your divine power we are upheld. When the winds of evil blow, and the storm rages on the great abyss, when the rains fall upon the mountains and over the proud creatures, may the torrents of our sins not sweep us away to die in our faults. Smoother than oil are his words, but they are unsheathed swords. 23 Cast your care upon the LORD, who will give you support. He will never allow the righteous to stumble “This topic, ‘How to lead a Christian life’, is not limited to theoretical concepts and practical strategies, but gets “up-close and personal.” After all, it is the person that needs to be transformed, and not the strategy. Plenty of strategies are available to us, but what we need is to interact with them and be transformed by them”.
