Our Mission
The Family of Saint Sharbel is a non-profit organization that exists to help evangelize the world by sharing the story and spirituality of Saint Sharbel through prayer, media, and works of mercy meant to encourage prayer. Inspired by the spirituality of Saint Sharbel, the members of the Family of Saint Sharbel serve as missionaries of prayer and as disciples of Christ in the world. They are dedicated to advancing the Church's mission of evangelization by following Jesus Christ and helping those who are in need whether financially, morally, or spiritually. They gather in prayer as a community, promote the teachings of Jesus Christ, and strive to live them. Who's Involved? Our members include priests, monks, nuns and lay people who come together for the Divine Liturgy, teaching, prayer, the recitation of Rosary, spiritual retreats, and days of recollection. Our Story
The Family of Saint Sharbel came into being after its founder, Raymond Nader, underwent a mystical experience at the hermitage of Saints Peter and Paul* in Annaya** during the night of November 9th - 10th, 1994. This experience left Raymond with a miraculous mark on his arm and in his heart that changed his life and the lives of others. After this experience, some people gathered to pray with Raymond Nader in several places, including Annaya. The number of those who gathered increased until a group, The Family of Saint Sharbel, was officially formed on August 11, 1995. Raymond’s encounters with Saint Sharbel have been repeated over 100 times. All of these encounters occurred at Annaya in Lebanon with just two exceptions: when encounters occurred twice at the church of Most Holy Trinity Monastery in the US. During these encounters, which take place once or twice every year, the mark on Raymond's arm gets renewed. Raymond has so far received 45 messages, sixteen of which are currently published.
