Dec 8, Feast of The Immaculate Conception
“Blessed are you, Virgin and Mother, sanctified from your conception". "Just as Jesus is described as the New Adam, Mary is the New Eve. Ephrem wrote: “The two women were pure and simple, Mary and Eve. One of them, however, became the cause of our death and the other, the cause of our life. Eve, by hearing the word of the serpent conceived evil and brought death. Mary, by hearing the Word of God, conceived Jesus and brought life”. More about the Immaculate Conception dogma HERE. Grant us to celebrate with joyful spirits and exalted hearts the announcement of your conception, the dawn of our salvation. Maronite Liturgy
September 8 is the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin. The Church honors Mary, who is blessed among women, and considers this day as the beginning of our salvation in her Son, Jesus Christ. May the prayers of the Virgin Mary, protect us. Amen. Maronite Liturgy

If you ever feel distressed during your day, call upon Our Lady. Just say this simple prayer, “Mary, mother of Jesus, please be a mother to me now.” I must admit, this prayer has never failed me. – Mother Teresa
Happy Mother's Day. Image: Catholic Church England and Wales @ Flicker Tomorrow, 1st of May, is the beginning of the Month of Mary.
The Maronite Church has always had a special devotion to the Virgin, as is evidenced by the great number of churches which are dedicated to her both in Lebanon and in our own country. Mary is always seen in the Maronite liturgy as the Mother of the Lord, the Theotokos. It is because of this unique position that the Maronite Church knows that it can turn to her and seek her intercession with her Son: "O Mother of the Life, petition your divine Son to keep away from us all the effects of evil, to preserve us from all animosity and to strengthen us on our way."
