Testimony of Maria G Foley (Louisiana, USA)
I would like to relate the most amazing "incident" that happened to me yesterday (11/12/2020) while shopping at Mary's Helpers organization. I inquired about one of my most beloved saints--Saint Sharbel. I first learned of him through a close friend of mine, years ago, as well as through Mary's Helpers Newsletter. I knew of the countless healings through him in Lebanon and throughout the world. I yearned to learn more about him; I was eager to buy his autobiography. I was ecstatic when told that two books on his life were in stock. I went around and picked one up to see the cover. Needless to say that I was in total SHOCK!! He was looking straight at me; his eyes were very much alive!! I told myself that this can't be happening! Now I quickly put my brain to work to find a rapid solution. After placing the book on the counter, I figured that probably the publishing company had manipulated the photo so that on this book he would be looking straight ahead. In all other pictures he is always piously looking downwards. I did not say anything. At home I started unloading my purchases and what a SHOCK again!! St. Sharbel's picture on the book cover is looking down!!! Well ---- I got myself "together" and could not stop thanking him for this "sign", for this gift that he had bestowed on me. I pray daily for his intercession and use his holy oil as well. I especially petition him to guide and protect my two young nephews, whose father died not so long ago. He too was Lebanese.
I have not stopped smiling and thanking St. Sharbel since my happy "incident". I decided to come forth with my story because it is good to share. To boost each other up and to know that St. Sharbel is here to assist us with our petitions.
(I find the book to be very inspiring. It is an excellent guide on our earthly walk; for we learn humility, to love, to assist our fellowmen).
