Testimony of Elise Nassif Bou Diwan
Mrs. Elise Nassif Bou Diwan, married to Mr. Jean Hasan Mustafa, born in Baabdat 1985, a school teacher and mother of two children, resides in Al-Qaaqour. As she tells about her health condition backed with medical reports:
“In the year 2017, it was revealed that I was afflicted with breast cancer in the left breast. I was admitted to Al-Rom Hospital and underwent X-rays, mammography, ultrasound, and MRI scans, performed by Dr. Rabih Saeed and Dr. Imad Al-Hajj, the surgeon. Saint Sharbel was present with me, and I asked him to guide me back to my family and to lay his hand alongside the doctors during my treatment. On December 18, 2017, a date was set for the surgical operation to remove the breast and lymph nodes. While in the operating room and before the operation was completed, I momentarily regained consciousness from anesthesia, and I saw Saint Sharbel raising his hand above my head. He was present during the operation, and it was successful, and I returned to my family.
After five years, I experienced severe pain in my lower back. I consulted the family doctor, Philippe Younes, who requested an MRI scan of my back on July 4, 2022, which revealed that the cancer had spread to the bones from head to toe. At that point, I went to Dr. Marwan Ghosn's clinic, where he requested blood tests and a PET scan. These were performed on July 6, 2022, revealing that the disease had recurred and spread throughout my entire body. At that critical time, a friend of mine visited the Shrine of Saint Sharbel in Annaya and asked Father Louis Matar to offer a Mass for my healing. So, he asked her to bring the patient to visit the shrine of the saint. I complied with the request while devastated, and when he saw me, he asked me to swallow a cotton swab soaked in Saint Sharbel's oil in front of his tomb and to ask the saint for the grace of healing. He also gave me two relics to put in the water and recite the rosary and ask the saint for healing and to drink the water. I went down to visit the saint’s tomb, swallowed the cotton swab, it felt like balm entering my mouth gently. I felt the cotton swab move from my neck to my right armpit, where the pain was, and it settled there. Then I took some soil from the saint's tomb, boiled it, and drank it daily on an empty stomach. My pains disappeared, and I knew that Saint Sharbel had healed me.
On October 18, 2022, I underwent a PET scan, and the miracle was realized as complete healing and the disappearance of the disease from my body. Therefore, I came with my family to thank Saint Sharbel, accompanied by the full medical report, and recorded the miracle on January 3, 2023. Glory be to the Lord Jesus."
