Homilies

Homily on Saint Sharbel by Fr. Sean Donovan Paster of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Tulsa

This homily was part of a special event marking the Family of Saint Sharbel, USA’s delivery of a first-class relic of St. Sharbel to the parish. Fr. Donovan explores St. Sharbel’s profound penance and miraculous intercessions, drawing connections to the saint’s universal call to holiness and friendship with Christ. From his unique communication through dreams to the incredible story of his incorrupt body, St. Sharbel’s universal message inspires all to grow in holiness and devotion.

“Where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.” Homily of His Excellency Bishop Nabil AlAndary.

Bishop Nabil AlAndary reflects on the profound biblical verse, "Where your treasure is, there also will your heart be" (Luke 12:34), delving into the spiritual significance and application in the context of Saint Sharbel's community.

Homily of Father Simon El Hajj from Saint Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church (Somerset, NJ) on July 23, 2022

Homily of Fr. Simon El Hajj on the occasion of the blessing of St. Sharbel Statue at Saint Cyril of Jerusalem Catholic Church in Jamison, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 23, 2022.

Homily of Fr. Theodore Trinko (IVE) during Holy Mass of the celebration of the birthday of St. Sharbel, at the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, in Emmitsburg, MD, on May 7, 2022.
“Saint Sharbel whose birthday we are commemorating today is famous because of the miracles he worked during his life. He is somebody who also accomplished incredible feats like the ones we heard in today's reading...He was born to a poor Catholic Maronite family in Bekaa Kafra...It is the highest mountain village in the country of Lebanon. And so it's appropriate that somebody who would fly to the heights of sanctity would begin his life already at the top of the skies”...

Homily of Fr. Theodore Trinko (IVE) during Holy Mass of the Fifth Anniversary of the Dedication of Saint Sharbel's Shrine-October 15, 2022.

"But more and more Saint Sharbel, who is universally known in the East, is becoming known in the West as well. We get news or information, or we talk to people from all over this country and from South America as well, who know and love Saint Sharbel, and can testify to the power of his intercession..."
