Healing Testimony of John Antoine Al-Batrouni
Little John Antoine Al-Batrouni is from Qartaba. His mother is Joyce Afif Habshi from Deir al Ahmar. John was born in Qartaba on April 7, 2021, and now lives in Habboub. His mother recounts his health history.
“When my son turned one month old, his health deteriorated. He was constantly crying. On May 28, I took him to Al-Maounat University Hospital in Jbeil. He was under the supervision of a few doctors: Dr. George Nicola, Dr. Rola Kabalan, Dr. Rita Saliba, Dr. Marie Claude Khalife, Dr. Juliana Saaibi, Dr. Hady Al-Zir, and Peter Noun. It appeared that he had contracted a high level of diabetes, 1320 mg/dL. The doctors were surprised that the infant was still alive.
That night we went to Annaya. We spent the night there, praying and asking Saint Sharbel to intercede with the Lord Jesus Christ and heal him. We prayed with all our hearts.
The next morning his diabetes level dropped to 989 mg/dL. But he was in a coma. I brought a priest to baptize him and anoint him with oil. I would spend a long time in front of Saint Sharbel’s Shrine in the monastery courtyard asking him for a miracle.
Dr. Kallab subjected him to a brain scan. He was surprised by the image of a large cross on his brain and found that the child’s brain was intact and healthy.
When I was at mass in church, and as the priest rose the holy communion chalice, I said, “It is either you take him or heal him.”
After the mass, my son urinated. I entered his room. They had given him a sedative. I took photos of my child and spoke to him. He opened his eyes and smiled. I left the room to talk to the doctor. He told me that he had given him sedatives and should not have awakened before two days. He was surprised and told me that my son was a miracle. A few days later, my son was healed from diabetes. I took him home. Just then he began shouting with his sister. I called out to Saint Sharbel as I was on the porch.
I turned around to see Saint Sharbel walking into the children’s room. When he entered the room, the kids became quiet.
The father of the kids came to the living room. I told him that I saw Saint Sharbel enter the kids’ room. He approached their room and opened it only to find them fast asleep. At that instant, John was healed.
Together with the family, I brought him to thank Saint Sharbel along with the medical records. I registered the miracle on June 15, 2022.”
