Healing Testimony of the Toddler Elie Jean-Claude Moussa
The toddler Elie Jean-Claude Moussa, originally from Halba, was born in Ajaltoun in 2019, his mother’s name is Mary Hanna Sfeir, residing in Ajaltoun.
His parents recount their son Elie’s condition, supported by medical reports: “On December 16, 2019, Elie, two months old, woke up crying and vomiting, we admitted him to St. George Hospital in Ajaltoun, where Dr. Christelle Medlej took care of him.
After taking an ultrasound of his abdomen, it was found that there was an intestinal blockage. While performing a catheterization to open the blockage the intestine was perforated, forcing the doctors to perform emergency surgery. During the surgery, it was discovered that there was a growth in the intestine 4 cm long, which forced the doctors to remove 15 cm of the intestine.
During the night of 22 December, a tumor appeared on Elie's side and his condition began to worsen through Christmas morning. When a blood test was performed, a sharp drop in "hemoglobin" = 5 was discovered, so the medical team, in the presence of Dr. Christelle Medlej and surgeon Roger Korkmaz, rushed and asked for blood plackets. It happened that the donor's name was Sharbel and he was a devotee of Saint Sharbel, his patron saint. Before the child underwent surgery, he anointed him with the blessing of Saint Sharbel.
Following surgery, the hospital administration requested that the child be transferred to a specialized hospital, so we transferred him to Karantina Hospital where Dr. Christelle Medlej, Dr. Lara Raffoul, and Dr. Najeeb Hanna cared for him. Upon the arrival of his grandmother, we asked her to look after Elie, and we went to Saint Sharbel in Annaya, we, his parents, and the child's uncle.
When we arrived at Saint Maron Church, the mass was already in progress, and Mrs. Helen Abi Khalil was performing the service; the incense began to boil in her hand, she looked at us several times, and at the end of the mass, she handed us a piece of incense that she cut with scissors from her hand and asked us to put it in a water bottle and go quickly to the hospital.
We visited the tomb of St. Sharbel and asked him to intercede for Elie before the Lord Jesus to cure him of his illness. We took a relic and added it to the piece of incense. On the way to the hospital, we recited the rosary. Our son was on his last breath. We gave him a drop of water from the bottle and wiped his face. He gasped and started breathing normally.
After a long tribulation, we were able to secure a bed for him at Hotel Dieu Hospital. On the 28th, he underwent tests, and it was found that his condition was not reassuring and is becoming increasingly dangerous. We put the bottle carrying the blessings of Saint Sharbel next to him, he hugged it and fell asleep. In the early morning, necessary tests were performed, and the unexpected positive results appeared, and his condition began to improve day by day.
On January 2, 2020, Elie was transferred from intensive care to a private room, and on the 11th of the month we went home to the astonishment of the doctors and nurses.
In fulfillment of Elie’s father vow, Elie was baptized with his twin brother Sharbel, and at the baptism he was given the name of Sharbel. We came on 12/12/2021 to thank Saint Sharbel for his intercession, accompanied by his medical reports and recorded the miracle.
