Saint Sharbel Sends New Life
I, Inana Farid Mansour, Greek Orthodox from Latakia, in the presence of Monsignor Antoine Deeb and after placing my hand on the Gospel of Christ, declare the following:
My close relative got married and was delayed in conceiving for no clear reason. I was saddened for her and began praying. I bought a picture of Saint Sharbel, but when my prayer seemed unanswered, I stopped praying to him and moved the picture to another room.
While staying at my parents’ house, I dreamed that I was walking along a road I did not recognize, and a statue of a man dressed in black appeared from among the mountains. I then arrived at an old monastery I did not know. My relative and I lit candles and prayed. I asked her, “Where are we?” and she replied, “We’re in Lebanon.” When I woke up, I didn’t know where we had been; at that time, I had never visited the monastery.
On another night, I dreamed that Saint Sharbel handed me a box with a date written on it. I brought his picture back, resumed praying, and asked my husband and my relative to travel to Lebanon to visit the Monastery of Annaya. It was my first visit to Saint Sharbel’s monastery. There, the scenes I had seen in my dream unfolded before my eyes—the road to the monastery and the monastery itself—as if I had been there before. I prayed and asked his help, offering apology, repentance, and contrition.
We returned to Syria, and a month later my relative conceived. Saint Sharbel then appeared to me in a dream and said, “Your relative is pregnant.” The date he had given me was the very date of her conception. Since then, I have continued to dream of him and to pray to Saint Sharbel, and he answers me.
