The 2025 Saint Sharbel Conference in Ireland: A Historic Spiritual Gathering

From July 11th to 13th, 2025, Ireland hosted its first-ever Saint Sharbel Catholic Conference in Meigh, Co. Armagh—a landmark event that brought together the faithful for three days of deep spiritual renewal. This historic gathering invited attendees to experience the beauty of Maronite spirituality, rooted in the Syriac Christian tradition and the holy witness of Saint Sharbel Makhlouf.

Attendees had the rare opportunity to venerate more than 200 relics of Catholic saints, pray with Maronite monks and nuns from Lebanon, and participate in the Maronite Divine Liturgy, chanted in Aramaic—the language spoken by Christ. The conference featured Eucharistic adoration, healing prayers, and inspiring talks from international speakers rooted in the rich Syriac and Maronite traditions.

Raymond Nader's address was a highlight of the conference's second day, Founder of the Family of Saint Sharbel, who joined the conference via Zoom. His powerful talk reflected over 30 years of devotion to Saint Sharbel and offered spiritual insight into the Saint’s message. The full talk is available below.

The conference was organized by the Family of Saint Sharbel Ireland (FSS IE), a Catholic lay movement committed to deepening devotion to Saint Sharbel across Ireland and the UK. 

Rooted in the ancient spiritual heritage of Lebanon, FSS IE is a growing community of laypeople, clergy, and religious who seek to follow Christ through a life of simplicity, silence, and prayer—guided by the example of the humble Maronite hermit, Saint Sharbel Makhlouf. The movement regularly gathers for prayer, formation, and outreach, inviting all to discover the transforming power of Saint Sharbel’s witness.
