Healing Testimony of Tani Youssef Wehbeh
Mr. Tani Youssef Wehbeh, born in Kobayat, Lebanon, in 1961, is married to Mrs. Fadia Habib Massoud Hanna and is the father of two sons, Joe and Pierre, and he resides in Kfarhbab. Here is his account of his health condition, which his medical reports support:
“While I was at work, I was installing an electrical cable when my leg struck a pile of rusty iron. A metal rod pierced completely through my leg from one side to the other. I was taken to the hospital, where a doctor treated the wound but did not administer a tetanus shot because it was unavailable at the hospital during the COVID-19 outbreak. I continued my treatment at home.
After several days, my entire leg became infected, requiring hospitalization. After examinations, it was found that my leg was in critical condition and required amputation. My wife, children, and family were shocked, and they began praying to Saint Sharbel, asking him to intercede before the Lord and save my leg from being amputated.
They asked the doctor to repeat the tests and imaging. It then became clear that I had contracted a virus that could end my life. At that point, my wife requested Saint Sharbel’s garment so I could wear it for three months. Along with my medical treatment, she would give me oil, incense, and a thread from Saint Sharbel’s relics three or four times a day.
After two weeks of treatment in the hospital, the virus became confined only to the top of the foot. The surgeon then informed us that surgery was necessary and that the leg would be amputated up to the knee. Despite our objection, he explained that he would try to preserve as much of the leg as possible depending on what he found during the operation.
I was taken into the operating room while my wife and children prayed in the hospital chapel, and our relatives lit candles and invoked Saint Sharbel’s intercession for my healing. Here we recount the miracle that occurred inside the operating room at Notre Dame des Secours - University Hospital in Jbeil: As the surgeon told us afterward, his hand settled on the two small toes of the foot undergoing surgery, and he amputated only those toes. Whenever he attempted to lift his hand to perform the higher amputation—below the knee—his hand would freeze in place, forcing it back toward the two small toes. Only then would he feel able to proceed with the surgery.
Yes, this is the power and intercession of Saint Sharbel before the Lord, for he did not allow the surgeon to amputate below the knee.
My healing was completed through the intercession of Saint Sharbel. I came with my family to thank him, and I recorded the miracle on May 20, 2024.”
