Healing Testimony of Ghiyat Mikhael Latouf
Ghiyat Mikhael Latouf, born in 1968 in Jisr al-Shughur, Idlib, Syria, is the son of Umayma Latouf, married, and father to one daughter.
As he testified before Fr. Antoine Deeb, Judicial Vicar for the Maronite Eparchy of Latakia, Tartous, Homs, and Hama:
"After placing my hand on the Holy Gospel, I’m member of the Greek Orthodox Church, I affirm that in the year 2000, being admitted to Al-Soufi Hospital in Latakia for surgery to remove metal plates from my leg, I suffered a brain hemorrhage during the procedure and fell into a coma that lasted two months.
When I awoke, I was paralyzed and unable to speak or walk. During that time, I often saw the Virgin Mary in dreams, telling me: ‘Trust in God and do not give up.’
On February 6, 2019, while lying in the living room and still in constant pain, with my mother and daughter nearby, I suddenly saw a bright light shining from an icon of Jesus, Mary, and John the Baptist on the wall. The light started to move toward me. I was fully awake, not hallucinating or delirious, and I saw the light clearly.
Then, Saint Sharbel appeared next to me. I had called upon him many times in the past, asking him to intercede for me before the Lord. He was carrying a net made of threads, like a fisherman’s net, which he cast over my stomach and used to draw out the pain, suffering, and illness from me. I cried out to my mother and daughter, "Saint Sharbel!". “Where is he?” they asked. I told them, “He returned with the light into the icon.”
From that moment on, I was completely healed. I regained my strength, returned to work and normal life—as if I had been born anew.
When Dr. Monzer Baghdad visited me, he told me, ‘You were healed by a divine power.’ My condition was also followed by Dr. Issam Suleiman and my cousin Dr. Ghassan Haidar.
I officially recorded the miracle on December 20, 2023. Glory to God in His saints, and all thanks to Saint Sharbel."
