Healing Testimony of George Sharbel Younes
Mr. George Sharbel Younes, born in 1988 in Tannourine El-Fawqa, Lebanon, is an expatriate living in Warsaw, Poland, where he works in trade and marketing. His residence in Lebanon is in Mastita.
Here is his account of his health condition, which his medical reports support:
"In 2015, I underwent a gastric reduction surgery at Saint Joseph Hospital in Dora, performed by Dr. Fadi Sleilati. During the procedure, I suffered a severe hemorrhage, which stopped only through my mother’s prayers.
Later, on September 27, 2023, while in Poland, I decided to have another surgery to move my stomach from the chest back to its natural place in the abdomen and fix it there. The operation took place at Zybloly Hospital in Olsztyn, performed by Dr. Pawel Lach.
During the surgery, I had a massive internal bleeding that the doctor could not stop. They were also unable to reposition my stomach. I required ten units of blood transfusion. My stomach contracted, and I could no longer eat or drink, so they started feeding me through IV fluids.
The doctors planned to do an endoscopy and CT scan to locate the bleeding source. Meanwhile, my mother prayed fervently to Saint Sharbel, asking for his intercession before the Lord Jesus Christ to stop the bleeding and loosen the stomach’s contraction.
Saint Sharbel heard our cry—the bleeding stopped, and the stomach was freed. The doctor, astonished, declared: “What happened with George is a miraculous intervention—science cannot explain it.”
After returning to Lebanon, I underwent a final surgery at Saint George University Medical Center Hospital, Beirut, performed by Dr. Ziad Rassi. Before the operation, I visited Saint Sharbel’s hermitage, and as I prayed the Rosary, I heard Saint Sharbel whisper in my ear twice: “I am with you.”
The surgery lasted ten hours and was a complete success. I was fully healed through the intercession of Saint Sharbel, Saint Rafqa, and the Virgin Mary.
I thank the Lord Jesus Christ who brought me back to life. I went to Annaya with my family to thank Saint Sharbel and officially recorded the miracle on February 13, 2024."
