Healing Testimony for the Child Youssef Awad
The child Youssef Jihad Ibrahim Awad, whose mother's name is Bahiya Hamadeh, was born in Hasakah, Syria. His father works in Lebanon as a tile layer. Youssef was born in the town of Chekka, Lebanon, in 2018, and is of the honorable Sunni sect.
The father has a Lebanese friend named Joe Al-Tawil. Joe took Jihad and Youssef for coffee in a café in Chekka. Then after the coffee, he left them to meet somewhere else later. While the father and son Youssef were walking side by side on the sidewalk, Youssef slipped and fell into a ditch that was more than seven meters high. As the father watched his only son, whom he loves very much among six daughters, fall, he jumped to catch him. The father sustained a severe wound to his head, shoulder, and hand. The boy's condition seemed like he had fainted. Both were transferred to the government hospital in Tripoli. After x-raying the child, he was found sound and intact. The father underwent stitches in the wounds on the head, shoulder, and hand.
Youssef, the child, told us that Saint Sharbel carried him in his arms from the moment he fell until he reached the ground. He recognizes Saint Sharbel, especially from his statue in the courtyard of Saint Joseph Church in Chekka.
That night, the father dreamt of Saint Sharbel telling him, “I protected your son.” “When I told my friend Joe Tawil about the dream, he asked me to record the miracle at Saint Maron Annaya Monastery. He brought me and my son Youssef to Annaya to thank Saint Sharbel and record the miracle on September 10, 2023. Thank you Saint Sharbel for your care for children!”
