Healing Testimony for the Child Elissa Jerdak
The child Elissa Qaysar Shawqi Jerdak, whose mother is Mrs. Rola Mafraj Saqr, was born in Ain al-Sandiyana, Dhour El Choueir, Lebanon, in 2006. She belongs to the Greek Orthodox community and resides in Zeghrine.
Her mother Rola recounts her daughter’s medical condition, supported by medical reports:
“When my daughter reached two and a half years old, she developed a high fever. When we consulted the doctor he prescribed antibiotics, yet her fever did not subside. We had to switch medications several times, but her temperature remained elevated. We eventually reached the point of giving her injections, yet her fever still did not drop, and the cause of the fever remained unknown.
We admitted her to Hôtel-Dieu Hospital in Beirut on October 3, 2009. After tests were performed in the emergency room, it appeared that her inflammation level had reached 126. At that point, Dr. Raymond Mikhail requested that Elissa be admitted to the hospital. I vowed my daughter to Saint Sharbel and asked for his intercession before the Lord Jesus Christ to heal her from her illness. Her father also vowed her to Saint Rafqa.
The next morning, Dr. Raymond Mikhail ordered new tests for her to begin treatment. We conducted the tests, and the inflammation level had unexpectedly dropped to 38 without her taking any medication. The doctor was astonished at the healing and said, ‘What happened with this child is a miracle.’
She was discharged from the hospital on October 7, 2009. We came to thank Saint Sharbel for his intercession and recorded the miracle on April 29, 2024.”
