Healing Testimony for Rosarita Sharbel Al Hashem
The child Rosarita Sharbel Al Hashem was born in Halat, Lebanon, in 2017. Her father is a pharmacist, and her mother is Cynthia Shehadeh, a pediatrician.
Here is her mother’s account of her health condition, which the medical reports support:
“After our marriage in 2014, we spent three years without children, and we were confident that God would bless us with a child. Indeed, I became pregnant with a baby girl. In the fifth month, after examinations and imaging, it was found that the baby had one enlarged kidney and one small kidney, and that her neck was thick. I began to reproach Jesus and asked Him, ‘What is wrong with this baby?’
At night, I heard a powerful voice saying, ‘I formed her completely well.’ In a dream, I saw my womb from the inside and how the baby was formed within it. When I woke up, I told my husband, ‘The daughter is fine.’
I caught a strong virus and had a cough for two weeks, along with abdominal pain, so I underwent an examination at Our Lady of Succor University Hospital in Jbeil. It was found that the baby was suffering from a lack of fluid around her; she was not growing and could not move. Dr. Barakat told me that if I delivered the baby at the beginning of the sixth month, she would not be able to live. I replied, ‘I will enter the American University Hospital.’
I asked for the intercession of Saint Sharbel before the Lord Jesus Christ, and I swallowed a piece of cotton soaked in Saint Sharbel’s oil. After spending ten days at the American University Hospital, I suffered heavy bleeding on January 16, 2017.
On March 18, 2017, I gave birth to the baby. She weighed 734 grams, and she was born well—just as the Lord Jesus and Saint Sharbel had told me—and she suffered from nothing.
After her birth, a red birthmark appeared on her leg above the knee. Dr. Lama Sharafeddine told me, ‘This birthmark will not disappear from her leg; it will thicken and its color will change.’ But by anointing it with Saint Sharbel’s oil, it disappeared and left no trace.
I came on the fourth of August 2024 to thank Saint Sharbel and recorded the miracle.”
