Healing Testimony for Aboud Malek Shamoun
Mr. Aboud Malek Shamoun is married to Mahboubah and has five children. He was born in Qamishli, Syria, in 1936. He belongs to the Syriac Orthodox Church, is a deacon, and resides in Sweden.
Here is his wife’s account of his health condition, which his medical reports support:
“My husband suffered from pain in his right flank toward the back for three days and did not benefit from home treatments, such as taking painkillers and other remedies. My son took him to the hospital, where the doctors treated him on November 10, 2019. They confirmed the presence of a stone in his right kidney and agreed to give him pain-relief suppositories to take before sleeping, and that the next morning he would enter the hospital to undergo a CT scan.
My husband returned home in pain, and I had forgotten that I had a heavenly pharmacy: oil and incense from the shrine of Saint Sharbel in Annaya, along with candles. I quickly brought the bag and asked my husband to bathe. I told him that I will anoint his back and the area of pain with the oil of Saint Sharbel,’ and so it happened. I gave him to eat the incense with the blessing of Saint Sharbel that was in the bag, and I prayed to Saint Sharbel, asking for his intercession before the Lord Jesus Christ and the grace of His healing.
After that, my husband slept deeply until morning. The next morning, he got out of bed and told me: ‘I spent the night without pain, even though I did not take the suppositories the doctors prescribed for me.’ I felt that Saint Sharbel had fulfilled my wish by healing him.
We went to the hospital, and the doctor asked him about his condition. He answered: ‘I am not in pain.’ After he underwent an MRI and the examinations and lab tests were done, it was found that there was no stone in his kidney. The doctors were astonished and said that the stone had passed from the kidney and that it was no longer there. I did not tell the doctors what had happened, because doctors in Sweden would not believe the faith that we have.
We returned home, and from that time my husband has not complained of any pain. Thanks be to the Lord Jesus and to Saint Sharbel, who does not disappoint those who ask him. I thanked Saint Sharbel for his intercession and recorded the miracle on August 18, 2024, attaching the full medical reports.”
